Common questions

Dementia & Alzheimer's, answered

Do your caregivers have dementia training?

Yes. Every caregiver receives hands-on training beyond Oregon's requirement, with condition-specific preparation for memory care and supervision by our team.

Can the same caregiver come each visit?

We prioritize consistency, familiar faces reduce confusion for someone with dementia, and 98 of every 100 scheduled visits are delivered, so care rarely gets missed.

What if my parent resists care?

That's common. Our caregivers are trained in gentle approach and redirection, and we adjust the plan until visits feel comfortable and trusted.

Can you care for severe dementia at home?

In most cases, yes. We care for people with mild, moderate and severe dementia at home, including walking or driving along with someone who wants to get out. Memory care becomes the safer choice when someone is highly combative or at risk of doing something unsafe, like walking into traffic. If we reach that point, we'll tell you honestly and help you plan the next step.
